Kalote Waterfalls, Karjat

A friends bday and  a plan for a trek the next day..with barely any sleep (cldnt get any due to the adrenaline and excitement) dat grips me bfre ma football matches, outing/trek, or any event that puts me in the driver’s seat...

So here i was up n awake, leaving home with ma gal at around 5.40am on a cold, wet, rainy Sunday morning.. the plan was that everyone needed to assemble by 6.15am at Dadar Stn, knowing that we have alot of punctual (heavy sarcasm here) individuals in our group , including me at times..bt nly Amit being the one to turn up, as we had to catch the 7.03am fast bound train to Khopoli (which is after karjat)..we missed dat n hence had to wait until 7.53am for da next train (u see the time frame – huge gap)..so we treated ourselves to some vada/samosa-pav and chai, along with a small photo-shoot as well.. Frgt to mention it was 9 of us in total (6 guys n 3 gals)..so here the train arrives and within just 7sec it gets full, and dat too on a Sunday morning dint really expect dat though (hence, NEVER travel by train post 7am)..we somehw managd to catch seats for the women to sit and aftr awhile i got place myself to sit n relax,sm slept; we reached Karjat by 10am (aorund 2hrs journey)

We stocked on sm water, cold-drinks n ate at a small shop sme tasty n spicy Missal Pav, Poha , Kanda Bhajiya n Vada-Pav..n mind you dnt even think of drinking any water frm anywer bt a packed bottle pls.Once done here we caught the bridge to the east n den reached for the Tum-Tums parked outside , we had sm drivers rush to us, n as we told them Kalote Village, one said `200 (dats lyk `15/20 per head) decent enough ;we agreed, adjusted ourselves n wer on our way to the Village which was a kool 25min drive n a beautiful n scenic one dat too, so photo enthusiast keep your camera’s handy..On reaching we asked sm vilagers the route, there was a straight path to follow n it was a walk in the park till the waterfall, the most easiest iv done so far..on route we see some small streams n rivulets on the way n also reach a lake with sm Awesome Bunglow in the middle of it, connected by a metal bridge.. If your accompanying women along, there is a stretch dat deviates from the path that they can use to lighen themselves and have an Open –Air toilet dat comes to the resuce without prying eyes, hehehe(rather funny i mentioned this, but every women/gal faces this issue as its all open fields everywer,u just gotta find a gud spot n so the ladies are comfy as well while trekking n continue having a gud time)...

So we now reach the waterfall at last, lotsa ppl already having a gud tym njoyin and gettin beaten up by da fall, which i must tell u is pretty dirty, as some mud/silt n other stuffs are washed along with it as it flows down (jst a heads up)...so while i was njoyin takin pics n a video, 2 pals of mine went to the top of the falls, bfre goin on top i had to experience the flow of the fall, and as i sat under it, i felt whips of a 1000 nails hitting ma back n den ma head..i had to sit under it in breaks,hahaha..WoW!! dat was gud, now to reach on top, and we did just dat, now this section felt lyk a trek bt for lyk just 5min or so....so we grab a nice spot under sm trees to avoid the lashes of the rain, and explored the nearby area and also let ourselves on a mini waterfall which felt lyk heaven..no while returning back to the spot 2 of ma frnds (a gal n her byfrnd) had to xperience the force of nature n after losing grip were dragged wit the flow of the current, nly to be helped back in..it was defntly Scary n an Eye-Opener,  never to try smtin lyk dat again.. Just to xpress what i mean here is a small example of what actioned out at kalote, however in this video @ INDORE (Out of 5, just 2 Survived, n 2 Dead n 1 still mising) - http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=242344175784747&comments ..we gt them back in, the gal was bruised and in pain, the guy was calm n kool (which helped)..so we decided now to get down, bt stil the pain was there, so we waited, hd some amazing Cold-Cuts, with cheese n butter in a sandwich (it was tasty and the best lite and easy to carry around meal), add that with some Port Wine 1000 n u got a winner baby!!..so now after all this we headed back down all the 7 of us, oops i frgt to tell you the other 2 cldnt come in the water and hence waited down far from the fall, on a bridge..so we gave them the food and decided it was time to leave and call it a day, just bfre i went o take a nice Dump in the open,i Luv ma Mother Nature, hehehehe, lol

So we walked back n called the driver of the Tum-Tum and on the way stopped for sm chai n freshened up, got to the station for sm more waiting and tanx to sm blunders by the railways for interchanging the train schedules..bt nonetheless,we got into a train, gt place for everyone and i slept back on the ever-helpful shoulders of ma Beautifull Bunnyyyy..So we reached Dadar, exchanged Hugs, Kisses, bid adieu and planned for another outing, another day...How can we let Mother-Nature get away with such beautiful, green, luscious, rainy, wet n monsoon weather..so you will have more of me, until nxt tym CIAO!!!

  8. An important topic-I'm so happy to see it addressed. Thanks very much for sharing your short visit to kalote waterfalls karjat. The pictures are wonderful. Karjat Hill Station has one of the largest bio diversities in the world & supporting a huge number of species of flora and fauna.
